SIMEDHealth is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable (AR) Senior Counselor to join us in our Gainesville, FL office location.

AR Senior Counselors are responsible for the AR of assigned SIMEDHealth providers and other AR related projects. As an integral part of the accounts receivable team, the AR Senior Counselor will be responsible for working aging reports – ensuring that the age of the accounts is kept within goals, identifying insurance issues and denials, and working with carriers for resolution and recovery.  Additionally, the AR Senior Counselor is responsible for working patient due balances and referring collection issues to the appropriate counselor.  The ability to work with our patients and providers in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner is vital to this position.  Following our collection policies and procedures in established time frames and working independently will be a requirement of this position.

A qualified AR Senior Counselor will have the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalency REQUIRED
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines REQUIRED
  • Minimum three years of medical office billing experience REQUIRED
  • At least 2 years of previous accounts receivable experience demonstration solving problems to resolution.
  • At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel Programs. 
  • At least 2 years of experience demonstrating the ability to analyze and recommend corrective action to the Director in order to continuously improve collections.

Here is list of duties that an AR Senior Counselor is responsible for:

  • Shall be responsible for the Accounts Receivable of assigned SIMEDHealth physicians
  • Must pass routine audits.
  • Responsible for reviewing all outstanding insurance balances for assigned physicians greater than 60 days.
  • Ensure that insurance balances do not exceed time limit filing.              
  • Respond to insurance and patient inquires in a timely and accurate manner.            
  • Responsible for reviewing all claims for assigned physicians.        
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of % of collection for assigned group.
  • Participate in all departmental meetings and contribute to the overall operations of the department.
