Join Our Collaborative Diagnostics Team as a Full Time Radiology Assistant in Gainesville!

SIMEDHealth's Gainesville imaging center is looking for a motivated and adaptable Full Time Radiology Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this dynamic role, you will be an integral part of our patient care team, providing essential clerical, technical, and patient support under the guidance of our licensed radiology technologists and physicians. You will contribute to a smooth and efficient patient experience by assisting with preparations, education, procedures across different imaging modalities, and meticulous record-keeping.

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer use
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (must obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Solid understanding of Medical Terminology
  • Ability to safely lift up to 30lbs
  • 2 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Intergy or similar EMR systems is a plus
Your Role Will Involve:
  • Providing crucial assistance during a variety of imaging studies and diagnostic procedures.
  • Performing essential clerical tasks, including accurate completion of patient information on study tech sheets.
  • Preparing the imaging room to ensure it's ready for each specific study.
  • Diligently verifying patient identity using two identifiers.
  • Delivering high-quality customer service by clearly explaining procedures and providing helpful information to patients and their families.
  • Assisting with the safe and comfortable transfer of patients.
  • Positioning patients appropriately while ensuring their comfort and privacy.
  • Contributing to a clean, organized, and well-supplied environment in exam and dressing rooms.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Reviewing imaging orders for completeness and adherence to criteria.
  • Maintaining strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Demonstrating strong organizational abilities in managing tasks and information.
  • Accurately compiling and processing required patient forms (contrast consents, MRI safety questionnaires, etc.).
  • Utilizing the EMR system to view patient data, verify orders, understand diagnosis codes, document relevant information, and manage appointments.
