SIMEDHealth in Gainesville, FL, is seeking dedicated and collaborative individuals to join our Sleep Lab as Care Team Clinic Assistants (CAs). In this role, you'll be an essential support to our providers and medical assistants, working together to deliver exceptional patient care.

As a CA, you'll contribute directly to the efficiency and positive atmosphere of our clinic, ensuring patients feel well-cared for and supported. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced and rewarding healthcare setting.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Working collaboratively with all medical assistants within the clinic suite.
  • Assisting with patient rooming, potentially including vital signs, history intake, and medication reconciliation (based on clinic needs).
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our exam rooms.
  • Managing and monitoring the expiration of supplies and medications.
  • Ensuring the proper handling of sharps and biohazard materials.
  • Responding to and managing patient inquiries through our patient portal system.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing faxes, and preparing necessary documents (signatures, refills, home health).
  • Navigating prior authorizations using Cover My Meds.
  • Preparing various insurance-related forms as needed.
  • Proactively reviewing and prepping patient charts to ensure all necessary information is available.
  • Managing and following up on open orders.
  • Handling non-clinical phone calls with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Providing support in managing medical assistant voicemails.
  • Being a flexible team player, ready to assist medical assistants, physicians, and advanced care providers with various tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

What We're Looking For in You:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook (Required).
  • Current BLS/Basic Life Support certification (Required).
  • Previous experience with an electronic medical record.
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • 1-2 years of prior medical office experience.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Comfort in a high-energy clinical environment.
