Full-Time Clinic Assistant/Telephone Operator - Your Communication Hub at SIMEDHealth Physiatry!

SIMEDHealth's Physiatry (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) office in Gainesville, FL, is seeking a highly organized and communicative Full-Time Clinic Assistant/Telephone Operator to manage our front-line communications and provide essential administrative support.

As the voice of our practice, you will play a crucial role in efficiently directing calls, assisting patients, and ensuring accurate information flow. Your ability to multitask, handle a multi-line phone system with ease, and maintain a professional demeanor is essential. We're looking for someone with outstanding customer service skills and a clear speaking voice. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply!

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Professionally answering and directing all incoming phone calls using a multi-line system.
  • Providing helpful responses to patient inquiries regarding office logistics and general information.
  • Verifying and updating patient information accurately within our electronic health record (EHR) system, including documenting relevant healthcare details.
  • Typing detailed and accurate notes.
  • Efficiently scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and managing our electronic fax server.
  • Accurately interpreting and utilizing Hospital Call Schedules.
  • Maintaining awareness of daily provider schedules for accurate call routing.
  • Understanding and appropriately handling calls related to hospital consults and transitional care.
  • Effectively directing new patient calls to our dedicated coordinator.
  • Regularly retrieving and responding to voicemail messages in a timely manner.
  • Adhering strictly to patient and staff safety protocols, including HIPAA compliance.
  • Providing basic information about SIMEDHealth's services and providers.
  • Comfortably remaining seated for extended periods while managing telephone duties.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Clear and professional speaking voice.
  • Computer proficiency with accurate typing skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) language skills are a plus.
