Administration - Gainesville, FL - Part Time

SIMEDHealth is looking for a part-time Patient Greeter to welcome patients to our Gainesville office location.

This will be part-time Monday-Friday 

As the Patient Greeter you will be responsible for assisting patients and welcoming them to our facilities.  You may be asked to transport or escort wheelchair bound patients from one area of the facility to another, to their vehicle, or assist with directions. You may also be asked to make deliveries to offices within the main building and assist with other projects.  Candidates for this position must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working with the public.

This is a physical position and candidates should be in above average physical condition, able to push/pull 50 pounds or more, stand for long periods of time, and travel throughout the building continuously.

Candidates will meet the minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency (Required);
  • Must be able to bend, lift, push and pull 50 pounds (Required);
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, and stand for long periods of time;
  • Ability to push a wheelchair with patients up and down the parking lot hill to various offices, buses and cars;
  • Must be personable and enjoy working with people;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to speak English fluently; 
  • Ability to handle a high volume of walk-in visitors/ guests; must be able to portray a positive attitude.
  • Previous customer service experience is required.

Some of the duties and responsibilities that may be required include:

The Patient Greeter (PG) shall:

  • Greet patients & visitors as they enter the building & direct them to the appropriate suite;
  • Provide courteous service to visitors & guests entering the building;
  • Be attentive & maintain a visible presence to guests & visitors needs;
  • Interact with visitors & guests in courteous and efficient manner;
  • Anticipate guests & visitors needs by monitoring and supervising the atrium and porte-cochere areas continuously;
  • Assist patients exiting their vehicles or escort patients to their vehicles as needed when leaving the facility.  The PG is not responsible for lifting patients in/out of personal vehicles only assisting once they are in a wheelchair or using another assistive device;
  • Escort patients from one area of the facility to another (i.e. patients requiring diagnostic exams, etc…);
  • Get assistance for any patient or visitor who may be experiencing a medical emergency;
  • Assist administration with marketing mail projects as needed;
  • Assist with daily interoffice mail delivery or other deliveries as needed;
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
